Job Description


POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY


  • Execute a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and environmental sensitivity. Key characteristics include a safety-first mindset, environmental consciousness, and strong decision-making skills, while core competencies center around project management, wildlife hazard control, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder communication. This blend of skills ensures that airside development progresses smoothly while maintaining a sustainable and safe environment for both aviation operations and surrounding wildlife.      

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTION


  • Involve in planning and execution of airside related infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, and lighting systems that adhere to aviation and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement wildlife hazard management programs to minimize the risk of wildlife strikes and ensure operational safety.
  • Collaborate with environmental experts to continuously assess and mitigate wildlife risks.
  • Ensure all airside development and wildlife management activities comply with CAAM and ICAO standards and environmental laws.
  • Identify and manage risks related to airside infrastructure, wildlife hazards, and environmental factors.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments for airside operations and wildlife-related hazards.
  • Ensure safety protocols are in place for managing wildlife strike incidents and infrastructure-related risks.
  • Lead the response to wildlife strikes, infrastructure failures, or other airside safety incidents.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in airside development and wildlife management practices.
  • Maintain an aligned process between with Manager Operations and Manager Compliance for all aerodrome related matters

  • Ensuring that airside infrastructure development does not compromise safety for aircraft operations or personnel.
  • Effectively managing wildlife hazards in a way that minimizes the risk of wildlife strikes while balancing ecological considerations.
  • Managing airside development and wildlife programs within budget limitations while ensuring quality and safety.
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, environmental agencies, and internal teams.
  • Identifying and assessing risks associated with wildlife activity and airside development to implement effective mitigation strategies

  • Leverages data and analytics to make informed decisions, particularly when assessing wildlife risks and planning airside development.
  • Anticipates potential challenges in both airside development and wildlife management, developing proactive solutions to mitigate risks before they escalate.
  • Works closely with various teams, including engineering, operations, environmental experts, and regulatory bodies, fostering a spirit of cooperation to meet diverse objectives.
  • Makes timely and confident decisions, especially when quick responses are needed to mitigate risks or resolve wildlife-related incidents.
  • Proactively implements systems and strategies to minimize the risk of wildlife strikes, including habitat management, wildlife monitoring, and deterrence technologies.
  • Expertise in wildlife risk assessment and hazard mitigation, including knowledge of ICAO guidelines for managing wildlife near aerodromes.
  • Skilled in identifying potential risks, both from an operational and environmental perspective, and implementing mitigation strategies.


Education


External      

  • Bachelor Degree in Aviation Management, Land Development or any related discipline    

  

Relevant Industries

 

External       

  • Degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Management, Land Development or any related discipline with minimum 5 years working experience or/and in Airside Operations and proficient in aerodrome designs and operations as per CAAM CAD14 and other CAAM / ICAO related SARPS is an added advantage
